Author Guidelines
The ALPA Journal of Interdisciplinary Studies publishes original, peer-reviewed research articles that advance scholarly understanding of law, governance, political science, public policy, and related social sciences, with a special emphasis on Afghan contexts and comparative perspectives.

We accept Research Articles only, each with a total word count between 8,000 and 12,000 words (this excludes the abstract, references, tables, and figures).

Manuscripts may be written in Dari, Pashto, or English. All submissions must be provided as Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx) files, PDFs will not be accepted. Upload your manuscript through our online editorial portal; we do not accept e-mail submissions.

Organize your Word document as follows, using 12 pt Times New Roman, double-spacing, and 2.5 cm margins with consecutive page numbers in the footer.

On the first page (title page) include:

Article title in the manuscript language (and English translation if non-English)

Author name(s), and affiliation(s)

Corresponding author’s e-mail address

Funding statement (agency name and grant number)

Dari & Pashto manuscripts must follow the Green Book citation style. English manuscripts must follow APA citation format. Every in-text citation must appear in the reference list and vice versa.

By submitting, authors confirm that the work is entirely original, has not been published elsewhere or is under consideration by another journal, and contains no unjustified overlap with prior publications. All co-authors must have approved the submission.

We use a double-blind review. Remove identifying information from the main file. Expect a first decision within 8–12 weeks, with possible “minor” or “major” revision requests. Authors must respond point-by-point to reviewer comments.

We adhere to COPE guidelines. Any evidence of plagiarism, data fabrication, redundant publication, or unethical research practices will lead to immediate rejection or retraction.

All articles are published open access. Authors retain copyright and grant the journal exclusive first-publication rights.

There are no submission or publication fees for authors.

Aim and Scope
The journal aims to provide a platform for scholarly research that explores the legal and political landscapes of Afghanistan, as well as the broader geopolitical and socio-economic contexts. It encourages discussions on political transitions, law reforms, the role of civil society, international relations, and human rights. The journal is committed to publishing rigorous academic work that advances the understanding of Afghanistan’s political and legal systems.
